The Nike Air Max 1 '86 "Jackie Robinson" is a special colorway of the retro performance running shoe inspired by the Baseball Hall of Famer and his lasting impact in sports and civil rights. Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier in 1947 when he played his first game for the Brooklyn Dodgers, and subsequently had a decorated career with the team thereafter. As for this colorway, the upper features a perforated navy suede base contrasted with tonal suede overlay. A navy suede Swoosh appears on the sides, while Metallic Gold eyelets give the shoe a premium look. Details inspired by Robinson’s baseball career include a Metallic Gold “42” (for his jersey number with the Dodgers) emblem on the vamp, and “42” branding on the tongue tag in the shape of a baseball diamond. A white mudguard and midsole, and a Gum rubber outsole complete the look. Release date: April 15, 2024
